Discouraging Day in the Studio

Today I tried to make corrections to my eye color in “Self-Portrait with Fire and Night,” and I decided that there was too much space between my nose and my mouth, and that my nose was too big!

I tried to fix it, and and just made it worse. Did you ever have a discouraging day in the studio?

Walk away.

That’s my advice.

The paint needs to dry, and your spirits need to be lifted. Do something completely different. That’s my plan.
